Our team has extensive experience in areas of business/commercial litigation, civil litigation, business law, partnership and corporate law, public entity liability, real estate litigation, employment law, land use, environmental law, contract formation and litigation and public agency issues.
Marc E. Denison was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Upon graduating high school, he was accepted at Texas A&M University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Distribution in 1999.
Following graduation, Marc worked in Industrial Sales in Santa Barbara & Santa Clara, California and later in Dallas, TX.
In 2004, Marc moved back to California and began his legal studies at the University of San Francisco School of Law.
Marc obtained his Juris Doctorate from USF in 2007. Shortly thereafter, he returned to Bakersfield and has practiced here since that time. Marc joined the firm in November 2018.
Marc’s practice consists of a broad range of business transactional matters including real estate and land use, business formation and general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, and also estate planning and probate matters.
Roman Macias was raised in Reedley, California after coming to the U.S. at the age of five from Mexico. Roman later attended University of California, Los Angeles where he met his wife, Maria. In 2010, Roman graduated with a bachelor degree in Economics. Following his undergraduate education at UCLA, Roman obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2013 at Chapman University School of Law in Orange County.

Upon completing law school, Roman moved to Bakersfield and has been practicing law in the Central Valley ever since. His areas of practice include trust administration and probate matters, employment law and broad-based transactional practice that encompasses real estate and business formation.

In 2015, Roman served as an executive board member of the Kern County Bar Association Estate Planning, Trusts and Probate. He also served the organization as president in 2017.

Roman enjoys the challenge of solving problems and the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that goes along with it.
Joe Werner has been practicing in Bakersfield since 2011, and prides himself on accomplishing his clients’ goals in an efficient and practical manner. This philosophy and focus has enabled Joe to successfully litigate a wide range of matters over the course of his career, from straightforward collection cases and contract disputes to more obscure issues such as wire transfer fraud and administrative due process violations.
After graduating magna cum laude from Chapman University School of Law, where he was a Senior Articles Editor for the Chapman Law Review and a member of the mock trial team, Joe and his wife moved to Bakersfield to start their family. Immediately impressed with the sense of community in Kern County, and with two young daughters of his own, Joe has served on the board of directors for a local children’s charity as well as Habitat for Humanity. Joe is always eager for opportunities to give back to Bakersfield, and believes that includes providing honest, effective, and efficient services to his clients.

Joe has been selected to the Southern California Rising Stars list, published by Super Lawyers magazine, from 2020 through 2024. The list comprises the region’s top 2.5 percent of lawyers who are younger than age 40. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations.
Jeffrey P. Travis is a business attorney focused on representing clients in real estate, mergers and acquisitions, general business and tax matters.
Mr. Travis maintains a diverse practice advising clients on issues involving entity selection and formation, equity transactions, healthcare, real property development and leasing, regulatory matters, secured financing, and tax controversies at the state and federal levels.
In addition to his law degree, Mr. Travis holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Houston and an LL.M in Taxation from the University of Alabama, both of which provide him with a unique approach to aligning his practice with his clients' business strategies.
Daniel M. Root is a Bakersfield native. Following in his Grandfather Stephen Eyherabide’s shoes, from an early age Daniel knew that he wanted to become an attorney. Upon graduation from the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law in May 2016 with concentrations in Business and Environmental Law, Daniel returned to his hometown to begin his legal practice and give back to the community that gave so much to him.
Since graduating law school, Daniel has garnered a well-rounded, diverse practice in multiple areas of law, ranging from Transactional, to Business and Employment, to Water and Environmental, and to Real Estate. Daniel has been involved in numerous successful projects and litigations for his clients, and is driven to develop inventive strategies and plans of action to promote client success and satisfaction. Daniel looks forward to continuing his career and working for his clients in the Bakersfield area.
Shannon M. Miller was born and raised in Garland, Texas and obtained her Bachelor of Business from University of Texas, Arlington. She moved to California in 2004 and quickly established herself as a resident of Kern County. She earned her Master of Science from California State University, Bakersfield while working at the Taft Chamber of Commerce and serving on the Taft Planning Commission.
Shannon received the award for “Outstanding Academic Achievement in Law” from West Publishing Company, participated in Wiseman Moot Court, and served as a teaching fellow and mentor and legal writing teaching assistant after obtaining a Master of Legal Studies and Juris Doctorate from Kern County College of Law.
She has always been an advocate for the business community and the oil and gas industry and has experience with business transactions, government entities, economic development, city planning, and litigation.
Shannon is married to Jordan, a local small business owner, and a proud mother to four children. She is an avid traveler, enjoys cooking and family time, and is a Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Dodgers fan.
